I brought a friend to lunch in celebration of his birthday. The food was absolutely fabulous and so was our waitress Bridget. Bridget was very personable and attentive. She truly made the celebration a special time for both my friend and I. If I could give this restaurant 10 stars for their food and service I would.

I've been going here on and off for 40 years. My favorite Italian place, can't go wrong. The only thing that has changed over the years is they take credit cards! "Back in the day my first dates" were a visit to the il Camino which always led to another one!

Take out tonight! Chicken parm was awesome, and the Pasta with oil, garlic and parsley smelled and looked great! Was ready when promised, food was hot and fresh! Our #1 Italian place!! Bravo Il Camino, see you again soon!

11/Sep/2018 I haven't been to the Il Camino in probably 10 years even though I only live 20 minutes away. That will change after last night.

It was my best friends birthday and a group of us wanted to take her out, she threw out the Il Camino as a suggestion and we went with it, not really expecting too much as it is an older establishment that doesn't get a lot of attention.

The place still looks exactly the same as I'm sure it has been for the last how ever many years. The dining room was mostly full when we got there at 6:30 on a Tuesday night. Good sign. We were a party of 6, and I could tell they didn't have anything big enough for us all in their main dining room, but the host took it all extremely in style, asked us to hold on for a minute and immediately sat us in another dining room that was not being sat in. Great move, I totally expected to have to wait for a table, and was EXTREMELY surprised that we didn't have to. The host told us that our waitress Jamie would be over momentarily, and she was.

She was very bubbly with a huge smile on her face. She asked us if we wanted something to drink and we all said at the same time "Wine." lol She knew that we were out for a birthday (by the balloons we brought in) and that we wanted to have a good time. I asked for a glass of chianti, and she suggested we all split a bottle. Sure, that was a hard decision. She sold us on the upgraded bottle as it was one of the old fashioned bottles with the caning on the bottom. It was promply brought from the bar with wine glasses and a glass of water for everyone.

We were still waiting for 2 more people, so she gave us a minute and as soon as the rest of the part showed up, she was right back to see if they wanted some of the wine or something different. We all decided the wine was perfect and went for another bottle. We sat and talked for a few, and tried to make dinner selections, which was not easy, everything sounded so good. It was just all basic, old school Italian food, no modern twists, just the basics, which, in my opinion, are the best.

Three of us ordered the piccata, and 1 person got the eggplant parm, and 1 got chicken alfredo. We also each ordered different side dishes, homemade pasta, gnochi, zucchini parm. We also were served bread and a small salad. When the food came out, OMG, it was amazing. We all ended up kind of sharing so we could all taste it all. The piccata is the BEST I have ever had. Amazing. Delicate, but you could taste the lemon and the garlic. The alfredo and parm were good too, but I wasn't giving up on my piccata.

Jamie was very attentive through out the entire meal, but not obtrusive and she dealt with out loudness very well. I had brought in a cake after we first came in, and the host was extremely accommodating with keeping it out of the way for us. I was hoping to catch Jamie's eye to see if she knew, but she was busy clearing out table, offering another bottle of wine and refilling water glasses. I had a view of the host station from my seat, and I saw the host hand her the cake and she found the candles I had in the bag and very kindly put them on the cake herself. That was the hoped for action, but it's not always one that happens in a restaurant. It's not their job to serve the dessert we brought in, but she went about it without a thought.

She brought the cake in with plates and a knife and silver ware, and the candles lit, and we were all able to sing Happy Birthday to my friend. We asked her if she would take a picture of us, and she was happy to. As were were all moving to stand in front of a pretty mural on the wall, she took it upon herself to not only hold the cell phone that was given to her to take the picture, but to also GRAB EVERYONE ELSE's phones that were lying on the table to take pictures with those too. HUGE, extremely appreciated, move on her part. Picture was taken and we sat down to finish our wine and wrap it up.

By that time, it was nearly 9pm, their closing time, but she made NO MOVE to push us out. Another huge point in her direction. She even ended up chatting with us and telling us about her adorable 10 month old son. She's the kind of waitress that know her job and exactly how to do it to make the most of our experience and in turn, benefit herself.

All in all, it was one of the best going out to dinner for a birthday experience I have ever had. Usually, it's busy, crowded, server is not able to be so attentive and normally you feel rushed so that the table can be turned over for another customer. But, from Jamie's style, it's apparent that that is the style of the Il Camino in general. No manager or owner would allow a table to drag like we did if it wasn't the atmosphere of the establishment. Food was excellent, prices were extremely reasonable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
